Nathan believes God brought him to work in the funeral industry to help families and provide support to them during the loss of their loved one. He has a natural ability to be calming in stressful situations when families are struggling.
Nathan has lived in Lethbridge all of his life and graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 2008. He is very involved with his church, Free Grace Fellowship and can often be found behind the drum kit or the sound board. Nathan loves spending time outdoors with friends and family by hiking, camping and swimming during the summer and snowshoeing and snowboarding in the winter. He loves this community and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lethbridge and District.
Nathan began working at Cornerstone in 2010 and became a licensed Funeral Director through Mount Royal University in June of 2015. He is our Office Manager, and ensures all of the behind-the-scenes tasks that go into every service are completed thoroughly and accurately. His technical skills, combined with extensive computer experience and creativity, allow him to focus his talents on customizing memorial stationary packages as well as professional memorial video tributes. Nathan is one of the main operators of the in-house media streaming system at Cornerstone. His musical background as a trumpet player is a unique asset and he has played for many veteran funerals and Remembrance Day Ceremonies.
Nathan is married to Katie Overbeeke and are parents to their children: Kennedy, Rylee and Rhett. Katie has achieved Red Seal Chef status and was the Sous Chef at Mocha Cabana as well as the Executive Chef at Elim Village. He is incredibly proud of Katie, who was awarded the top Alberta Apprentice Chef in 2012.
