I was sorry to hear of Joann's passing. I went to school with Joanne in Magrath and have many fond memories of her. We also worked in Banff one summer together. She was a great lady. So very so for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Joanne's passing. She was such a lovely person, always ready to assist with a smile and never too busy to listen. I often marvelled at how she managed to drive a bus load of rowdy kids home at the end of a work day, but she never seemed to mind. She touched so many lives and will be missed by many. My sympathies to the Verwoerd family on the passing of Joanne. She was a fine lady and a wonderful school secretary. I had the pleasure of working with Joanne in Baker Jr High School, Baker Middle School and most recently again in Jennie Emery Elementary School. No matter the grade configuration of the school or the ages of the students, Joanne was a loved by staff and students alike.
