On Monday May 8th, 2023, Curtis Charles Small Face "Sikootstimii", loving son, brother and father, passed away surrounded by his family at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 32 years.
Curtis was born on July 25,1990 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Curtis and Kristal Small Face. Curtis was born nine and 1/2 weeks premature, two minutes after his twin sister Raven. His birth was special as he and his twin sister were born on their Dad's birthday. He was extremely close to his twin sister Raven and growing up he was very protective of all three of his sisters and was always looking out for them.
Jr Man loved being outdoors and was very athletic. He started playing hockey at the age of four years and played until his father's death. He would get excited and start preparing for hunting/fishing season every year. It was a "Man" thing that he and his Dad shared. His mom ensured that Jr Man would become an excellent swimmer. He finished his training with Red Cross swimming, beginning at age four up to the age of ten years old. His parents were very proud of him. He also had martial arts training with Hapkido and every sport he played, he excelled at, just like his father. When he was two years old, his Mom decided to enter the twins in the Sunburst International Beauty Contest. His Dad was against it, but Mom insisted and went against his wishes. When it was time for the contest, Raven was sick with a cold, so Dad had to wait in the car with her while Mom went in with Jr Man to attend the contest. When it was over and they walked out of the building, Dad started yelling and clapping because Jr Man was wearing a sash and carrying a trophy; he was crowned the " Best Looking Baby" in Alberta, "Beauty King 1993". Mom and Dad were so proud of him and after the win, Dad never went against Mom's wishes again.
He loved playing guitar, swimming, baseball and soccer; he enjoyed his sports, loved family vacations, camping trips to Turtle Mountain and going to Calgary Stampede. He enjoyed hanging out with his best cousins that were like his brothers: Julian Tail Feathers, Kyle White Quills, Kevin Shade and C.J. White Quills; they were always hanging out and riding their bikes around Cardston getting into mischief but always, always having fun.
Jr loved spending time with his family, picking on his sisters and having long talks with his mom and dad. He loved his dad's breakfast on weekends and his mom's homemade burgers. Jr had great times with his Papa Chris, spending weekends visiting him and talking about his late grandmother Bunnie. He was so happy when his sister had her first baby and was so proud to be an uncle and loved his nieces and nephew. He moved to Lethbridge in his twenties, working construction, mainly roofing and started a family. He loved his five children and was a good father. He always made sure they were well taken care of and became an expert in doing his lil' girls' hair. He always went above and beyond for them. He loved his aunties for always being there for him and helping him when he needed them the most. Junior was so happy, kind and loving; your smile, laugh and hugs will never be forgotten. We are going to miss you. " Kiikaakomiim" Till we meet again. "Kiitamaatstin"
