BRENDA FAY HOPP, cherished wife of Eric Hopp, will be missed since her sudden passing on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the age of 69 years.
Brenda was born in Ft. Saint John to Alexander and Violet Edwards. The family was on the move until they found their home in Fernie, BC, where she grew up in a full house of nine near the train tracks. Once she graduated high school, she went to work at Quails Hardware Store and then eventually, moved to Calgary in '73 with her sister Beverly and she started work at the airport in '74. Brenda went to Bible school in Eston Sask., and graduated in '77. During a youth rally where Albert Hopp brought a group of youth up to Kelowna is where she met Eric Hopp. Brenda and Eric got married on September 1, 1979 and were blessed with three children: Joseph, Preston and Desiree. Once all the children grew up, Brenda and Eric moved out to Kitchener, BC, and lived a basic lifestyle until her health started to become an issue and, more so, the addition of grandchildren came to be. She and Eric then moved to the County of Warner, just outside the town limits of Stirling, around Christmas time of 2022.
Brenda had many different hobbies and likes but her biggest love was for Jesus and going to church; she could always be found talking about her faith in Christ. Not far behind her love for the Lord was the love for her family and the care and attention she gave them. She raised shelties for many years but was very fond of a chihuahua named Tippy that her father had found running down the highway when she was a child. She could be found doing different crafts, needlework and quilting with friends from church. A thrill that she never thought she would be able to do, was ride a horse but her father made that happen for her by riding side saddle.
Brenda was predeceased by her mom Violet in August 2005, her father Alexander in November 2009, and her youngest brother Kelly in May 2015.
She is survived by her husband Eric, their three children: Joseph (Glenda), Preston (Ashley) and Desiree (Robert), and her five grandchildren: April, Tristan, Athena, Persephone, and Ares. She is also survived by her brothers Albert (Donna), Harold (Melody), and her sisters Beverly, and Belinda.
