Marlene Young was a caring mother, grandmother, friend, and partner.  She left this world on February 24, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 74, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

She was born to Albert and Meta Knispel on February 20, 1948, in Swan River, Manitoba.  After graduating from high school, Marlene chased her dreams to continue her education in Winnipeg in nursing school.  She spent many years in Lethbridge working at Bigelow Fowler clinic, however she stood proudly by Dr. Trautman supporting him in his clinic for many years until her retirement.

Marlene loved spending time in her yard and tending to her flowers.  She also made the best cheesecake as her children would attest to.  Camping, reading harlequins and playing cards were some of Marlee's favorite activities in her free time.

Marlee is survived by her partner, Al Janke, her children, Deon (Jodi), Shaun (Heather) and Kori (Ben) along with all her grandchildren whom she cherished, Colby, Brandyn, Dayton, Marshal, Parker, Charleigh, Amanda, Carson, Gradyn and Easton.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Gwen and husband Ray Priv?.

Memorial donations can be made out in Marlene Young's name to The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

So sorry to hear about Marley...she will be missed...we loved visiting with her and she always made people smile.

Bev & Steve Calnan, March 1, 2022

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. Marlee was a very kind, loving person. A friend to all. I had the privilege to work with her in her years with Dr. Trautman when I worked for Internal Medicine. Deepest sympathy. God Bless.
