WINIFRED C. FREEL

Deeply Loved and Greatly Missed Win passed away peacefully on July 17, 2008 at 94 years of age. She is the loving mother of Byron/Barney (Lydia) Freel, of Lethbridge, Virginia (Lloyd) Freese, of Haines Junction, Yukon, and Veronica (Pat) Emerson of Lethbridge. Her loss is deeply felt by her grandchildren, Vanessa, Nicole and Brittany Freel, Megan and Logan Freese, and her great grandson, Zachary Freel. Win was pre-deceased by her parents, George and Frances, her brother, George, her husband, Barney and her best friend and sister-in-law Evelyn Grisak. Winnie married Barney in London, England in 1943 and moved to Lethbridge in 1945. She enjoyed many wonderful years as a school secretary at both Central and Fleetwood-Bawden Schools. Winnie will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind, generous and strong woman. Her dedication and unconditional love for her family and friends was unwavering. Her greatest priority was always her children and their families. Win will forever be remembered for her warm hospitality, her Sunday roast and Yorkshire pudding dinners and for having an open door for all family and friends. We will greatly miss her ability to induce uncontrolled fits of laughter in all of us. A Memorial reception will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Winnie’s home, 1111-13 Street South. Please drop in and share some memories.
