WILLIAMSON, (WALTER) GEORGE

(WALTER) GEORGE WILLIAMSON of Lethbridge passed away in care on September 20, 2011 at the age of 67 years.

George is survived by his sister, Ann Myrholm, his sister-in-law, Allie, and his step-sister, Minerva. He also leaves to mourn his passing, his children: John (Tracy), Richard (Heather), Kevin (Jill), Triggvi, Kirsten, and Oli; his grandchildren: Emma, Christian, Eden, and Liam; his nieces and nephews: Greg, Brad, Ruth, Karen, Butch, Lance, Lorinda, and Karen. George was predeceased by his father, Walter George, his mother, Hilda, his brother, Leonard, and his grandson, Jacob.

George was a loving father and brother, and a dedicated teacher. We remember the wise and witty thoughts he always offered in conversation and his ambitious building projects. He taught all over the province inspiring the learning of countless pupils. At the time of his retirement, he was a teacher and administrator at Aurora Vocational College in Fort Smith, giving students the chance to improve their lives through continuing education. We lovingly remember his sense of humor, caring nature, imagination, and boundless energy.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to George at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 pm. The interment of George’s cremated remains will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:00 am at Wildwood Cemetery, Wildwood, Alberta.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to Pace Kids Calgary or to the Alberta Lung Association.
