RODGER GORDON WILLIAMS passed away after a valiant effort for life at St. Michael's Health Centre on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the age of 81 years.
Rodger is survived by his son, Brett N. Williams, and his daughter, Vanessa L. Williams. He was an only child but over his lifetime he developed his own 'sibling' ties; his friends from far and nearby are Evelyn A. Maupin (USA), Dave & Dee Dee Nishe and Richard Squirres.
He was predeceased by his father, Gordon N. Williams, and his mother, Gean M. Cazimer Williams.
Rodger loved to travel, most commonly to Wendover, Nevada. His friends often called him by his nickname—Big Rodge. His courage, spirit, and sense of humour were with him right until the end. People used to say that he had a wonderful personality and was full of laughter and the joy of life. Rodger worked for the Corps of Commissionaires on a part-time basis until he could no longer walk. He frequented the Lethbridge Casino and loved to meet fellow friends there for morning coffee—and to get that five-dollar senior's breakfast deal.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 9 Keystone Terrace West, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Sean McLeod officiating.
In lieu of flowers and memory of Rodger, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or CNIB.
