WILBERT BLACK FACE (Little Shields)

WILBERT BLACK FACE, beloved companion of Lorraine Bullshields of the Blood Reserve passed away in Standoff on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the age of 46 years. He is survived by his sisters Serephine Black and Collet Little Shields, brothers Eddie Little Shields, Clarence Little Shields and George (Doreen) Little Shields and aunt Magarit Hind Man. Wilbert was predeceased by his grandparents Lilly Eagle Tail Feathers and Francis and Jenny Eagle Child, parents Nelly Black Face and Eddie Little Shield Sr., brothers Gary Little Shields, Dennis Steele and Mike Steele, sisters Emily Steele, Helen Long Time Squirrel, and Angella Black Face and step-sister Rosella White Feathers. Wilbert spent his young adult years travelling and working in Alberta, B.C. and the United States. Wherever he was, he was making sure family and friends were taken care of especially his siblings. Throughout his life he cared for them in his loving way. He had a gentle spirit, respecting the beliefs and feelings of others. You can’t forget his sense of humour. He has a special gift as the role of a devoted father and grandfather to all his nieces, nephews as well as Lorraine’s children Peter and Jordan. He was devoted to his spiritual ways at Streets Alive. He spent quality time back home with the younger family. His kindness, love, caring, comical ways and guidance that he shared is a treasure, he will be missed by so many. He encouraged us ’to be good to each other until we meet again’. Wilbert is survived by his extended families: Russell’s, Small Eyes, Crazy Boy’s, Red Crow’s, Calf Robe’s, Wolf Plumes, Eagle Child’s, Bullshields, Eagle Tail Feathers and First Chargers. The family apologizes for any name not mentioned. A Wake will be held at WHITE CALF CHAPEL, Standoff on Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 7:00 P.M to 10:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held at WHITE CALF CHAPEL, Standoff on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ken Kissick officiating. Interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Standoff.
