It is with immeasurable sadness that the family of Helen Wieland announces her passing on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Helen was born in Coaldale on February 8, 1930. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Martin and son Edward; brothers’ Frank, Les, Julius, and John Lengyel; and sister Elizabeth (Alex) Kish. Helen is survived by her loving children, Leslie (Laurie) Wieland of Iron Springs, Brian (Brenda) of Lethbridge, Gloria Wieland of Vancouver, and Debbie (Brent) Dustin of Port McNeill, BC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, her sister Barbara (Ken) McRae; sisters-in law Helen Lengyel and Emma Lengyel; and many nieces and nephews. Prior to moving to Lethbridge in 2006, Helen and her husband Martin lived in Iron Springs, Caroline, Picture Butte, Lake Louise, Rumsey and Trochu, meeting numerous wonderful new friends along the way. Helen’s life was filled with love and laughter, and many cooking adventures that brought her great joy. There was nothing she loved more than to cook, bake and entertain family, and friends. A house full of company always brought a smile to her beautiful face. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her many relatives, friends, and neighbours. A Funeral Service will be held at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011-4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Archmount Cemetery.
