It is with a great sense of sadness and loss that the family of Karen announces her passing at the age of 54. Karen passed away in her sleep at home after a valiant battle with cancer.

Karen leaves to mourn her husband, Kevin, and their children, Sydney (Jordan) and Blair, as well as her mother, Wilma Davison; sister, Christi (Robin), and sisters-in-laws, Margret, Maureen (Jim) and Paddy, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Karen was predeceased by her grandparents, her sister Jody (2012), and her father Jim (2019).

Karen was born in Calgary as the second-eldest child of Jim & Wilma Davison. She attended school in Pincher Creek and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the U of C through the U of L. She met her beloved husband, Kevin Wesko, and the two were married on May 13, 1989 in Lethbridge. Karen had a love for reading, enjoyed camping and playing cards. She was talented in the kitchen, and had a relaxed, fun, loving generous personality.

A small celebration is being held for immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Interfaith Food Bank.

I was shocked to come across this post by accident. Karen was extremely dear to me in the early 80's and I will never forget her...so sorry to hear of this for her family.

Another angel who earned her wings way too soon. Karen was an amazing person in life and will be watching over all of us with the same love she showed everybody. Rest in Peace Karen, free from suffering. You will be missed.

So very sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I worked with Karen. Karen was the most friendly, helpful, and caring person you could ever meet. Karen always had a friendly hello and a hug for all who crossed her path. Karen will be missed at the office, but her memory will linger on forever. Sincere condolences to all of Karen's family.

I knew Karen for 10 years through work and she was so fun and kind. She was always the one I loved talking to about our gardening plans and any projects we had been working on. I loved her sense of humor, she was always good for a laugh. She is really missed in the office.

Flora Oler, May 11, 2020

My kindest thoughts go out to Kevin and their children; Karen was a good friend, a colleague at the College, and a fellow Social Worker. Wishing you and your family peace at this very sad time.

I have known Karen since May 20, 2012. I had the pleasure of interviewing her and could tell immediately just how wonderful a fit she would be for the position. In addition, from the perspective of AMA, Karen oozed TYLF, even prior to TYLF being our corporate philosophy at AMA. I last interacted with Karen on her birthday. Those that knew Karen, know that there was one thing she was guarded about, her age. So me being me, I took every opportunity to joke about her "advancing age, and being sooo much older than I am. In reality, we are quite close in age and joked about it often. I knew she was not doing well, and when I would text her, there were good days to text with Karen and there were days that were not as good. I truly hoped this would not be the last birthday I would be able to tease her about her age... We started our work relationship and I was her "boss" I dislike this term but that was the one she would use
