April 26, 2025

Date of Service: May 10, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of WES K. B. WRIGHT at his home on April 26, 2025, at the age of 62. Wes carried the strong values of family, hard work, and loyalty with him throughout his life.

Wes grew up in Essex County and later Toronto, Ontario, surrounded by his siblings Fred Wright (Grace), Dora Young (Gordon), and Dianna Clark, all of whom later blessed him with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Gloria Ardoin and Kenneth Wright.

In 1991, Wes made the move from Ontario to Calgary, Alberta, where he built a life and started a family. He proudly raised his three children, Cory (Stephanie), Troy, and Terri Lynn (Nathan), while working for many years as a skilled glazier. Though life brought its share of challenges, Wes’s journey led him exactly where he was meant to be — to the love of his life, his wife and soulmate, Roxanne, whom he met in March 2004. From the moment they met, they became inseparable, building a beautiful life full of laughter, adventure, and unwavering support.

Roxanne’s children, Christina (Joey) and Chad (Bobbie), quickly became Wes’s own, and together they shared countless family moments and memories.

Wes was a proud grandfather to Noah, Jaxon, Daniel (Kasandra), Aaron (Breanna), Courtney (Matteo), Kaylee (John), Kelcie, Kyle, and Kaiden. His grandkids will forever remember the “toonies” he always had tucked in his pocket for them, the countless camping trips, quad rides, and the endless laughter shared during family get-togethers. Some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by his grandchildren, and he lit up every time they came to visit.

After retiring, Wes and Roxanne fulfilled their dream of country living, settling on a beautiful acreage in Warner, Alberta. They quickly became a cherished part of the Warner community and Wes became a member of the Warner Lions Club. Wes took immense pride in their little piece of paradise, whether it was tending to the yard, working in his shop, or tackling new projects alongside Roxanne and his sister Dianna. He always appreciated having Dianna by his side, she was not only a huge help but someone he genuinely loved spending time with.

Wes was a man of extraordinary generosity. If you needed a hand, he was there without hesitation. Whether it was his mother-in-law Barbara, her sister Colleen, a friend, a neighbor, or a family member, if they needed anything, Wes was always ready to help. His heart was as big as his presence. He lived life with gusto, loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and spoke his mind with honesty and humor. His laugh could fill a room, and his spirit left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.

Above all, everything Wes did, he did out of love, especially for Roxanne, the woman he adored with all his heart. Whether it was bringing her little surprises “just because,” planning projects around the house and yard to make her smile, or simply finding ways to make everyday life more beautiful for her, Roxanne was always at the center of his world. His devotion to her was steady, deep, and unmistakable to anyone who knew them. Their bond was a true partnership, built on laughter, love, and a lifetime of shared dreams. His love for her was evident in everything he did, and it will remain one of the greatest legacies of his life.

Wes leaves behind his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, siblings and many family members and friends as well as a life of kindness, hard work, loyalty, and unforgettable memories. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every moment we had with him, and we will carry his spirit with us always.

A Funeral Service will be held at the WARNER SCHOOL – 409 3 Ave, Warner, AB on May 10th, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor’s Keith and David Dangerfield officiating. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Wes’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
