DEACON RAYMOND WAGNER, beloved husband of Ellen Wagner, passed away suddenly at home with his loving wife of 54 years by his side, on Monday, November 25, 2019 at the age of 74 years.
Besides his loving wife, Ellen, Raymond is survived by three children: Gerald (Tracy); Cheryl Ann (Rick); Christine (Kevin); 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; as well as numerous sisters, brothers, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Raymond's love did not discriminate as he was always willing to help anyone. He did not have the word 'no' in his vocabulary.
He was passionate about his wife, his family, his work, his community yet his greatest love was for the Lord. The love dad had for mom was incredible as she was his everything and he was hers. Together they were great examples of faith in a God that walked with them in every part of their lives.
He loved spending time with his family while hunting, boating, camping, and fishing. He touched the lives of many others while serving His Lord, he was truly a fisher of men. He will be deeply and sorrowfully missed by everyone who knew him.
We know that our God will sustain us as we mourn the loss of this amazing man who brought love, laughter, adventures, and endless stories to our lives. "He was a good, good, Father."
A Prayer Service will be held at ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1513 - 23 Avenue, Coaldale, AB, on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. with Father Ian Gagne officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH, on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Ian Gagne celebrating.
A Private Family Graveside will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Raymond may be made to St. Ambrose Building Fund.

Ellen and family, We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of Ray. Praying for you all.
I think everyone whose lives were touched by Deacon Ray are pausing to reflect today on the untimeliness of his death. Just 9 and 1/2 years ago we got to know him when we were put through a difficult time at the sudden loss of our mother Louise, who, like Deacon Ray, was never retired and was always devoted to church and God. We won't forget the kindness he and Ellen showed our family. Condolences to all of you!
I remember you both from Live-ins. Ray was a 'fisher of men' for our Lord. You both have SO much Faith and Trust in Our Lord and were/are shining examples of being Jesus' disciples. I am sorry for your loss and am keeping you all in thought and prayer.
Our deepest condolences. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered for all his wonderful ways.
Ellen, dear friend, I offer my condolences, warm hugs and many prayers.
Sincere condolences.
Our condolences & prayers to the family at this time. We met "uncle Ray & aunt Ellen" at Don & Julie's once, they are both beautiful people & enjoyed meeting them. Take care.
We were very sorry to hear of Ray's passing. God Bless all of you. Peace and Love
My deepest condolences on the passing of a great man, Ray, a true example of a man with a deep love for his family and living his life serving others as the example provided by Jesus, our lord. Ray you will be missed by everyone whose lives you touched.
There are not enough words to express our sadness and yet the joy we feel knowing that Ray is in paradise with our Lord. What an honour it was to serve with him only hours before at the Live In. Sending our love to Ellen(the love of his life) and to his entire family. May the love of Christ and his Mother Mary comfort you all during this difficult time.
With my deepest sadness and a promise of prayer. May God give you strength and consolation Ellen.
You are in our thoughts and prayers Ellen. Ray was a good, kind man who always made everyone feel welcome and worthy. May God bless you and watch over you and your family at this difficult time.
A man of God. A loving and faithful husband. A patient and wise father. Rest in peace, Deacon Ray, rest in peace.
My sincere sympathy to Helen and family. I'll always remember the twinkle in his eye and what a wonderful christian mentor and friend, Ray was to us. I pray you will feel the Lord's loving presence, profoundly, in this time of deep sorrow.
Dear Ellen, My deepest condolences on the sudden death of your dear husband, Ray. May he be welcomed by the angels and saints into the presence of God and his peace and love. Sincerely, Fr. Charles P
We are saddened by the news of the passing of Deacon Ray. He and Ellen have been such strong pillars in our Christian community in general and more specifically in the St. Ambrose / St. Catherine communities. Our prayers for strength go out to the Wagner family during this very difficult time of bereavement. May his soul rest eternally in peace.
I am praying for you all, asking the Lord Jesus and Our Lady to wrap their loving arms around you at this sad time. God Bless you.
My wife Susan and myself will always be grateful for the kindness which Ray and his wife showed us every time we came together in Calgary for our Diaconate formation weekends and study days. We are confident in prayer that the door of mercy and love will be opened for all who trust in our Lord and Saviour.
