It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of REINIER HERMANUS VOS, on November 12, 2023 at the age of 88 years old.

Rein was born in Cimahi, West Java, Indonesia on October 27, 1935. At the age of 12, he and his family moved to Laren, North Holland, Netherlands. He trained as a millwright before serving two years in the elite Netherlands Marine Corps where he had the opportunity to see the world.

Rein married the love of his life, K?the, and they raised two daughters. The family immigrated to Lethbridge in 1973. He worked for Canada Packers and Burns where he was a talented mechanic, welder and millwright for many years.

Rein loved spending time with his family, Angelica (Marc), Patricia (Fred) and his grandchildren, Mickey (Kenzie), Jessika (Geoff) and Abigail. He was passionate about his hobbies and loved to work on his truck and motorcycles. Rein could fix anything, all you had to do was ask. He also loved spending time outdoors, traveling and regularly visiting Waterton. When Rein was a young man, and because he had a rare and coveted blood type, he became a committed and well appreciated blood donor that carried into his Canadian life.

Rein was a loving husband, father and Opa and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
