Jeane was predeceased by her husband John Waddell, daughter Marlene, and her parents William and Josephine Miller. Jeane was born March 12, 1926 at Blairmore, AB. At the age of 5 they moved to the homestead at Lousanna, AB. Jeane attended school in Big Valley and High School in Edmonton. After completing her teaching certificate at the Normal School in Edmonton in 1943, she taught in one room schoolhouses throughout Alberta and enhanced the education of all her many students. Jeane married her cowboy sweetheart John Waddell in 1946 and they ranched on the homestead east of Coutts, until 1979, when they retired and moved to Lethbridge. In 1999 they moved to Grande Prairie to be closer to Daughter Dixie and family who provided care in their later years. Jeane always supported and encouraged her family to pursue their educational dreams. She was a strong advocate and supporter of woman’s rights and issues and passed this legacy onto her family. Jeane will be remembered for her love of genealogy, flowers, reading, music and southern fried chicken. Jeane maintained her positive, peaceful attitude her entire life. Her caregivers always told the family how she touched their lives and ‘what a wonderful mom and grandmother you have.’ Throughout her life trials and tribulations she persevered and always said, ‘Now go dry your tears and keep your chin up’. She believed whole heartedly in a sense of fairness, forgiveness, kindness and the importance and love of family. We will miss her so much. A private Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME in Lethbridge on January 11, 2008. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 724 - 13th Street North, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1H 2T1.
