It is with great sadness that the family of PEGGY VELKER announce that she passed away at the Blue Sky Manor on Thursday, December 30th, 2021 at the age of 81 years.
It is with great sadness that the family of PEGGY VELKER announce that she passed away at the Blue Sky Manor on Thursday, December 30th, 2021 at the age of 81 years.
She is survived by her children: Ruth of Kelowna, Lisa of Ontario, Larry of Lethbridge and Peter of Coaldale; her grandchildren: Larissa (Justin), Mackenzie, Nicholas, Megan and Mikayla; her three great-grandchildren Michael, Blake and Alex. She is also survived by the father of her children Lawrence Velker.
Peggy was predeceased by her sister Ruth and brothers George and Frank.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peggy's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.ca
A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME - 2825 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH - 1513 23rd Ave, Coaldale, AB on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Ian Gagne celebrating. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited. Kindly RSVP your attendance of the Visitation and/or Funeral Mass to Cornerstone at 403-381-7777 or care@cornerstonefh.ca The Funeral Mass will be live streamed and may be accessed via Peggy's obituary page on the Cornerstone website.
Peggy will be laid to rest in the summer of 2022 when we are able to have a celebration of her life.

It's been an honor to have you in my life Grammie. I am so thankfull I got to know you for all of my life. I'll miss you lot's but I know you are in a better place and will always look after us. I want to thank you for all you have done throughout the year's. You are special and you warmed people's heart's. You are and will always be there for us. I love you and I'm so greatfull that I got to see you before God called you home. I will always hold you close to my heart and will never forget you. Your memory will always be here and alive. So sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of delivering meals on wheels to Peggy over the past 4 years. Peggy always had a smile and a kind word. She was a delight to talk to. Rest in peace Peggy.
