JITSKE "SHIRLEY" VANDER PLOEG passed away peacefully in Lethbridge, on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the age of 92 years.
JITSKE "SHIRLEY" VANDER PLOEG passed away peacefully in Lethbridge, on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the age of 92 years.
Shirley is survived by her children: Harrison (Gail), John (Gisele), Casey, and Henrietta (Colin) as well as ten grandchildren, in whom she delighted - travelling to spend birthdays and special occasions with each child, whether it was watching hockey games, dance recitals or school plays.
She was predeceased by her husband Jan in 2000 and son Sidney in 2012.
Mom had a heart of gold, always making time to keep in touch with friends through the lost art of letter writing, hosting game nights or just visiting those who were ill or housebound.
A special thank you to the staff at Legacy Lodge in the Dementia unit, for their exceptional care of our mother.
A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. with Patrick Siedlecki officiating.
Shirley will be laid to rest with her husband Jan, privately in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
