It is with deep sorrow and sadness to announce the sudden passing of Layton Twigg, on November 26, 2011 at the young age of 18 years old. Layton was born on August 17, 1993 at Magrath, Alberta. Layton leaves to mourn, his Mother Andrea Twigg, Father Meldon Gros Ventre Boy, Maternal Grandparents Linda and Darryl Three Persons, Andrew (Joann) Twigg. His sisters Mandy (Terrance) Twigg, Neddy (Lyndon) Twigg, Brittany Twigg, Kaycee Twigg, and Megan (Sage) Twigg. His Brothers Lee Jay (Tiffany) Twigg, and Rylan Twigg. His nieces: Kylie, Leighton, Peyton, Silver and Gracie. His nephews Casssius, Lee Zane, Terrance, Chayton and Chase. His Great Grandmother Elizabeth Big Throat. Layton is survived by his aunts Elizabeth “Liz” Twigg, Melanie Three Persons, Farrah Three Persons, Marie Three Persons, Marsha Twigg, Janice Running Rabbit and Wanda (Leonard) Gros Ventre Boy. Uncles Jesse (Elyse) Three Persons, Warren (Kathy) Twigg, Grant Wolf Child, Mike Gros Ventre Boy, Rufus Gros Ventre Boy. Layton also has numerous great and great- grand aunts and uncles and many relatives from the Big Throat, Twigg, Gros Ventre Boy and Wolf Child Families. Layton will be remembered for his handsome face and charming personality. Layton was also known to be a very cool “Kewl” person. Layton was very easy to get along with and was very outgoing. Layton enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends. Layton also enjoyed the sports of Rodeo and Hockey. Layton’s most memorable win was his debut in to the boys steer riding, winning the boys steer riding event at the 2005 Kainaiwa Fair and Rodeo and Layton was also apart of the 2008 Kainai Midgets hockey team, but Layton’s passion was in Rodeo. Layton had a very special bond with his mother Andrea and his sister Brittany. Layton was also very protective of all his siblings; and they all affectionately referred to Layton as “Our Little Hero”. Layton’s Auntie Liz also called him her “Little Indian Boii”. The person Layton looked up to most and idolized was his big brother Lee Jay, often following and doing the exact same thing as Lee Jay. When Lee Jay became a steer rider and bull rider, Layton had to become a Cowboy himself. Layton and Lee Jay were always together and were known as Best Buddies. Layton was also close to his bro’s Rylan Twigg and Clint Three Persons; they looked out for each other and spent most of their time together. Layton also loved and cherished his nieces and nephews, he often made remarks on how he was going to adopt and raise all his nieces and nephews as his own. Layton was extremely personable, he has and made many friends. Layton’s love for all is what he’ll be remembered most for. Layton’s charming, loving personality will be missed by all who knew him; the void left in the hearts of all who loved him will never be replaced. Layton was predeceased by his Uncle Andrew “Buffy” Twigg Jr., his grand parents Eugene “Doc” and Evelyn Twigg, his Maternal Great Grandfather Horace Big Throat, Great, great Grandparents Harry and Clara Big Throat, James and Eulalia Healy, and James and Lucy Twigg. His Paternal grandparents Molly Gros Ventre Boy and Meldon Stripped Wolf, Great, great grandparents Cecelia Stripped Wolf and Tony Wolf Child as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The Wake Service will be held at OLD SAIYPOI GYM, Stand Off, AB, on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at ST. MARY’S IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, Stand Off, AB, on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Pawel Andrasz officiating. Interment at the St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
