Tony was predeceased by his father Anton, mother Eliza and grandson Chad Enns. Tony, the eldest son of Anton and Eliza Schoen was born on March 6, 1922 in Chur, Switzerland. They moved to Canada in 1923 and eventually settled on a farm east of Warner where Tony attended the Watt’s School. Tony farmed all his life, from working on neighboring farms to doing his own custom combining in Canada and the U.S. In 1948 he took over the Dale Hutchinson farm and also started purchasing his own land. Tony was often seen walking through his grain fields. He was involved in the Hub Feeders Feedlot built on the farm where his son Craig resides now. He loved to walk as most Swiss people do. Fishing was his favorite sport, especially with his family. Throughout the years, there were many vacations taken in Waterton and Montana’s many glaciers where there was plenty of hiking and plenty of fish. He also loved boating where he took most of his children to water ski and of course taught them everything there was to know about fishing. Hunting was another favorite sport which Tony and Elra both participated in as well as some of his children. Later in life Tony and Elra both took up snow skiing which they enjoyed for some years. Tony and Elra did a lot of travelling throughout the world. From as far north as Alaska to as far south as South America as well as many trips to Hawaii. They took in a farm tour of Europe which took in a stop to his homeland of Switzerland. Tony especially loved his music, whether it was a Swiss lullaby or the sounds of Wilf Carter, Hank Snow or Charlie Pride. Tony was a true family man. He loved unconditionally his wife, children and grandchildren. His brothers Joe and John were always close to him and a big part of his life. He departed this world with many fond memories of family and friends. Please remember his smile, his laugh and his over all love of life.
