Linda Tonin (nee Trachiel), the beloved wife of the late John Tonin, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on April 24th, 2019 at the age of 80.
Linda was born on December 17, 1938, in Bessarabia, Germany. She met John in a movie theatre where they exchanged glances in Vauxhall, Alberta.
Linda worked as a cook for Kimberley-Clark in Longlac, Ontario in camps 46 & 55. While in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Linda and John were blessed with their first child, a daughter, Deborah. They then moved to Alberta in 1960 and were blessed with a son, Johnny, in 1961.
Linda loved her family, gardening, knitting, and her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Bob) Haraga, her son, Johnny Tonin, her grandchildren Adam Haraga, Amanda (Danny) Nyentap, Austin (Morgan) Haraga, and her precious great-grandson Liam!
Linda was predeceased by her loving husband John, her parents in Europe, her brothers, Oskar (Freida), Manfred and Alfred.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Evans Hundermark officiating.
