TOLSMA Our Lord took to Himself Mr. FRANK TOLSMA on Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 at the age of 85 years. His comfort was Prov 3:5 & 6 " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." Frank was born in Arum, Holland on October 23, 1925 and married Shirley Wynia in 1951. They immigrated to Canada that same year and eventually settled in Vauxhall where they raised their 7 children. A few years after retiring they moved to Lethbridge. Frank had a variety of skills - milkman, painter, and carpenter. He was always busy doing something. Frank enjoyed serving His Saviour with music, playing the organ in various churches and singing in the Christian Men’s Choir. He was active in church councils and Bible Studies. After his wife Shirley went to be with her Saviour in 2000, Frank became an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed many games of cards. He shared his life and love with his predeceased wife, Shirley, and his children Margaret (Rients) Mazereeuw, Tilly Tolsma, Wilfred (Colleen) all of Lethbridge, Reynold (Grace) of Taber, Henry (Tina) of Vauxhall, Ed (Donna) of Wetaskawin, and Patricia (Ralph) Hummel of High River and his son in law John Stroeve (Anne-Marie). He enjoyed his 21 grandchildren and 23 greatgrandchildren. He is survived by his brother Louis Tolsma of Lethbridge, his sister Karen Hulshof of Nova Scotia, 4 brothers and 1 sister in Holland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross Society, 737-13 Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta, T2R 1J1. Family and friends are welcome to a visitation at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 - Mayor Magrath Dr. S., Lethbridge on Monday, March 7th, 2011 from 7 PM to 9 PM. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH, 1100 - 40 Ave. N., Lethbridge on Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 at 2 PM. A private interment will precede the service.
