TIVADAR, JOSEPH &QUOT JOE&QUOT

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, JOSEPH “JOE” TIVADAR, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, after a short, but hard fought battle with AMLeukemia on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the age of 76 yrs. Joe was born in Hillspring, AB, to Josef and Gisela Tivadar and spent his school years in Glenwood, AB. On September 5, 1959, Joe married the love of his life, DuWayne Nickal Hleucka. They were blessed with three children, Darcy (Marie), Shawn (Candace) and JoLynn (Jason) Meyers, and were doubly blessed with four grandsons, Riley, Tyson, Jayden and Jordan. Each one of them have made their Papa so proud. Other than a year spent in Calgary when Joe & DuWayne were first married, Joe spent his whole life in Southern Alberta. He worked for several companies in the area and also owned Tivadar Trucking for 14 years. He spent the last 26 years with Alberta Hail and Crop and was always there to “calm the angry birds (farmers).” Joe served as a Justice of the Peace for 20 years in Vauxhall and Lethbridge, performing marriages and serving the legal community, with both the RCMP and Lethbridge City Police. He made many long lasting friendships through his careers. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Josef and Gisela Tivadar and his brother Steve.
Besides his loving family, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary and several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Many thanks to Dr. Benke, Dr. M. Steed, nurses at the Jack Ady Cancer Clinic and the 4B staff for making Joe’s fight a little easier. A special thank you to Bryan and Barb Watts, lifelong friends, for all the love and support you have given Joe and his family. Cremation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12th Avenue South, Lethbridge, on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with Revered John Kohler Celebrant.
