Tinh Nguyen
1963 – 2023
Along with his wife of 35 years, he is lovingly remembered by his daughter Jennifer Scammell (Justin) and their children, Madison and Kinsley; daughter, Jessica van der Lee (David) and their children, Thomas and Vivian; and son, Brandon Nguyen. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and friends who were like family.

Tinh was born on July 29, 1963 in Baria, Vietnam. He came to Canada in 1983 with nothing and made for himself, everything. In 1988, Tinh married the love of his life, Huong, and they had three beautiful children whom he was so proud of and all they have accomplished.
Tinh worked hard and earned his Journeyman certificate in welding. He was a jack of many trades and no matter how big of a challenge, he was always determined to try and fix anything that was broken.
Tinh enjoyed gardening, eating his wife’s delicious cooking, travelling and having a cold beer with friends. Most of all, his greatest joy in life was being ông ngoại (grandpa). His grandkids were the light of his life. It didn’t matter what they did together, he just loved being with them.
Tinh was welcoming and made friends everywhere he went. He was a kind, gentle soul and will be missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the ER staff, Dr. Barnes and the team in the ICU at the Chinook Regional Hospital for all their care and compassion they provided us and dad.
A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Jim Manzara officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13th Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating. Both the Prayer Service and the Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Tinh’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
Following the Funeral Service, Tinh will be laid to rest in Royal View Cemetery.

My condolences I worked with your late husband/ father when his employer did contract work at the factory he was an interesting man and I remember his story of owning a ford mustang
