Thompson, Dennis George

On April 20, 2017, Dennis joined his wife Carol in heaven on what would have been their 54th wedding anniversary. Carol waited for just over three years for Dennis.

Dennis is survived by his children Arden Thompson, Lori (Brian) Van Den Biggelaar and Hayley (Mario) Thompson Bruised Head; grandchildren, Faith Thompson, Adrian, Shelby and Alanta Van Den Biggelaar and great-grandchildren Brodie and Sawyer Bruised Head. Dennis also leaves behind his brother David "Jeff" (Connie) Thompson and his niece and nephew Pamela (Louise) Thompson and Howard (Kathy) Thompson, along with countless cousins and his uncle Jack Goin and aunt Miriam Wright.

Dennis was very much the patriarch of his family and will be missed deeply by all. Dennis served for over 25 years on the Calgary Police Service before retiring to Victoria for a few years. When Dennis and Carol moved back to Lethbridge, AB, Dennis took up working security at the U of L. He was always very involved in the International Police Association and made many friends worldwide with that organization. Dennis was a member of the McKillop United Church and was very active volunteering with the Interfaith Food Bank. Dennis was an avid hiker and loved any activity that took him outdoors. Dennis also had a great love of music and was a huge supporter of CKUA; he never failed to inform everyone when it was pledge week. Dennis was always active and giving to his family, friends and community and will be leaving a great void for many. We love you Papa.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH - 2329 15 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, April 26th, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Trevor Potter officiating.
