OTHELIA "TILLIE" MARY THOMAS (nee GROSS), beloved wife of the late Matthew "Matt" Nicholas Thomas, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan's Park Meadows Village on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the age of 94 years.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Roz (Bryan) Kranzler of Lethbridge and Debbie (Ken) Sommerfelt of Winnipeg, daughters-in-law Bernice Thomas of Calgary and Gwen Thomas of Taber, grandchildren: Bryce (Casey) Thomas, Brent Thomas, Krystal (Tim) Kranzler-Bochan, Kevin Kranzler, Michael Sommerfelt, Jennifer (Chris) Norton, Jacquelyn Sommerfelt and Sean (Erin) Sommerfelt, great-grandchildren: Logan, Faith and Dylan Thomas, Nicholas, Theoren, Maddison and Olivia Bochan, Eric, Hailey and Toren Norton, Logan, Wesley and soon to be, "baby" Sommerfelt as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Tillie was predeceased by her sons, Larry Thomas of Calgary and Richard Thomas of Taber, parents Andrew and Jenny Gross, sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and George Schmidt and Lorraine and Albert Gross as well as niece, Sherry Gross.

Tillie was born on July 24, 1926 in Grassy Lake, AB. In 1942 she married the love of her life, Matt Thomas and together they lived and raised their family in the Grassy Lake and Taber area.

Tillie worked in retail as the manager of Fields in Taber and enjoyed many friendships with colleagues and clients over the years until her retirement.

She was active in her community and faith with dedicated involvement in the CWL for over 75 years, the Women of the Moose, as well as a member of the Taber Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Tillie had a eye for fashion and was always coordinated from head to toe with matching outfits, jewelry and high heels. Her absolute favourite colour was red.

Tillie loved to dance and have fun socializing. She was an enthusiastic team player in 5-pin bowling, softball and horseshoes.

Throughout all her pursuits, none could compare to the immense joy she found in loving and supporting their grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with their beloved dog, Tyson.

Tillie was a fun and energetic participant in her life, positive to her core and enjoyed a wonderful sense of humour. She will be deeply missed.

A special thank you to the staff at Park Meadows Good Samaritans for all their love and care for Tillie.

A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Cliff Bogdan officiating.

Thomas families, Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your dear Tillie. I know Dad enjoyed his visits at The Thomas house in Taber. Dad and Matt were such good buddies, and I know she was gracious in putting up with the two of them. He would tell me of her making a whole holiday meal in Taber and taking it to Lethbridge. I am glad to know that she is at peace with her Matthew. Sending our love and prayers. The Shimozawas

Our sincere condolences to Roz, Debbie and families. I was happy to have seen Tillie at church when we moved to Lethbridge four years ago. Visiting with her on the church steps after Mass, she said to me, "I don't remember you - but I like you!" Cherish all your memories and know she is at peace.

Sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom. I have the most wonderful memories of her over the many years as our life paths crossed. I only wish we could have given her the CWL honor guard as she passed but know we will all be honoring her in our hearts, prayers and song.
