THOMAS GEORGE ROTH

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Tom Roth passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on March 15th, 2009, comforted by the presence of his family, after a brief stay at the Edith Cavell Care Centre in Lethbridge. Tom was predeceased by his first wife of 49 years, Clementine, and his wife of 13 years, Marjorie. Tom’s life is treasured by his family, his four children, Arlene (Eileen McIntyre) Roth, Terry (Sheila) Roth, Dianne (Colin) Beattie, and Blair (Jan) Roth, his ten grandchildren: Sherri Corazza, Stacey Czibere, Jason Coyle; Tim, Erin and Courtney Roth; Sean, Clint and Mike Beattie; and Nathan Roth, as well as nine great-grandchildren, Travis and Tyler Corazza; Dianne Coyle; Emily, Connor, Sydney and Madison Czibere; Ragan Roth, and Prestyn Beattie. Tom’s legacy of love and friendship extends to his numerous nieces and nephews. Tom, the last of a generation, the tenth and youngest child of Jacob and Margaret Roth, was born on the original homestead south of Bow Island, and farmed there for more than fifty years. After retirement to Lethbridge in 1988, Tom continued an active life in his garden, his carpentry workshop, and with his church community through the Knights of Columbus and seniors groups. A warm, humble, thoughtful man, Tom’s integrity and quiet strength remain a model for his family and friends. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, March 20th, at 8:30 P.M. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2405 12 Avenue, S, Lethbridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Tom on Saturday, March 21, at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Tim Boyle presiding. Interment will follow at the Mount Calvary section of Mountain View Cemetery.
