Pardoe, Terry

February 24, 2025

Date of Service: February 28, 2025

TERRY WILFRED PARDOE, of Lethbridge, a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Born on August 25 1944, in Watchet, UK, Terry was the son of Eileen Ethel Long (affectionately known as Ivy) of Bethnal Green, London, and Frederick Charles Pardoe of Croydon, Surrey.

Terry was larger than life. His passions spanned the practical and the playful. His entrepreneurial spirit shone through his many ventures in boat building, construction, and rental properties. He held leadership roles in numerous companies, leaving a mark as both a visionary businessperson and an esteemed entrepreneur. Terry’s interests were as diverse as his career. He was an artist at heart who adored the soulful tunes of 50s and 60s music, savoured his lattes with the same enthusiasm as he scoured garage sales for quirky finds (and even cherished tools that didn’t work!). A lover of classic cars, especially his prized Jaguar’s, he was an active member of the Southern Alberta Antique and Classic Automobile Car Club. From a youthful passion for running to a lifelong love of motorbikes and golf, Terry embraced life with boundless energy and adventure. Terry’s remarkable journey saw him growing up in Somerset and taking on an apprenticeship in Engineering before relocating to Essex in 1962, where he started his own businesses and a family. In 2010, Terry was to visit Canada for the first time; he eventually relocated in 2019 and became a proud Canadian citizen in September 2023.

His life was a testament to reinvention and the courage to embrace new beginnings, enriching both his British roots and his new home. Above all, Terry was a people person and a friend to all. He knew the true meaning of life - what’s truly important: appreciation, gratitude, kindness, and adventure. Terry was the kind of person who truly would give you the shirt off his back. He inspired others to love every moment and showed people that every second of life is precious. He found joy in everything he did. Terry’s generosity, infectious smile, and innate kindness enriched the lives of countless friends and family.

Terry always kept $5 bills in his wallet and McDonald’s gift cards, giving them to anyone who looked like they needed help or asked for it. He often took people into McDonald’s and bought them meals.

For anyone who would like to carry on that tradition, if you see someone in need, please consider buying them a coffee or a meal in Terry’s memory. That would mean so much to him—an act of kindness in his honor.

His legacy lives on in the memories shared with his wife, Gillian; his children: Sam Pardoe (Marc Saunders), Lee Pardoe, Jason Eveleigh (Teresa), Darren Eveleigh (Rena), and Ryan Eveleigh (Michelle); his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; as well as his sister Joyce Rourke (John) and brother Roy Pardoe (Liz). He was predeceased by his first wife, Joan Annette Pardoe, and both of his parents. In gratitude we extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff and doctors of Chinook Regional Hospital and the Jack Ady Cancer Clinic, whose care and compassion supported Terry in his final days. A Come and Go Reception will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Terry, are welcome to join in celebrating a life so brilliantly lived.

Terry’s adventurous spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and boundless kindness have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His legacy of gratitude, kindness, and joyful adventure will continue to inspire and uplift us all. Rest in peace, Terry. Your light shines on in every memory and every heart you touched.
