TERPSTRA

TINA TERPSTRA (nee Dykstra) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the age of 87 years.

Tina was born April 30, 1928 in Beetgum, Friesland, The Netherlands. She and her husband and four children immigrated to Canada in 1955 and settled in Brooks, Alberta. From there they moved to Ontario, returning to Coaldale in 1969 and have been in Lethbridge since 1979.

Tina devoted her life to her family. She began her sewing endeavors early in her marriage - making clothes for her growing family. As time permitted she took up weaving, cross-stitch, and needlepoint. In her later years she began quilting in which she became very proficient. Tina was rewarded frequently with ribbons and awards for her many quilts. Much of Tina's senior years revolved around her love of quilting and her social circle of her special quilting friends. She enjoyed giving her quilts to her children and grand children.

Tina was predeceased by her husband Rients (Roy) in April 2006. She is survived by her children Jack (Mel), Andy (Wanda), Gerben (Gardien), Jane (Al), Ken (Linda), Clarence, Clara (Floyd) and Gerry (Nadine), sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH - 260 McGill Blvd. West, Lethbridge, Alberta, on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Cameron Fraser officiating. Fellowship lunch to follow.
