Matthew Gordon McLean/Taylor My father was an amazing person, he was a true gentleman. He would treat us McLean kids like gold , myself and my brother Dale and sister Sarah, and show us around the lower mainland and always find fun things for us to do. I grew up having him near by and leaned on him when life threw me a few curve balls. Hiking and baseball were some of my favorite times with dad. I remember making a bet with him when I was in minors baseball. It was mid or late season, I said , "dad if I get a homerun you'll have to give me 100$!" We would bet on lots of things, one sided bets lol. He knew I couldn't hit over the fence. He said, "I'll give you 100$ for every homerun for the rest of the season!" Zap! in a second I was a lightning bolt! I would ignored my baseball coaches instructions and would run like the wind, never stopping when they told me to. I ended that season with 5 in field home runs and toy money haha <3 We would bet on boxing and wrestling too, even if the prize was just bragging rights. After any wrestling it often turned the living room into a war zone with me and my big bro jumping off the walls and furniture onto dad. After dinner we would play cards like 31 with a huge pile of coins with some $2 and $5 bills, he paid the buy ins and supplied jackpots and the kids would take home the rewards. Looking back at all the holidays, birthdays and movie nights and cant forget failed home cooked meals makes me smile. It was really hard when my dad moved to Alberta but I knew it was the right thing for him and the Taylor side of the family. My dad always had the perfect thing to say. My biggest regret is that my father never met his granddaughters as they grow I'll be reminded of our times together, dad. I'll try my best to redo some of our great times so they will, in a way, be with you.

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thess 4:16,17
Looking forward to that day when we shall see him face to face.
