It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of AUDREY MAVIS TANNER, of Lethbridge, at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 89 years young. She is survived by her son Geoff (Janis) Tanner, grandchildren; Amber (Jim) Standen, Andrea Tanner, Candace (Denis) Nagy, Victoria and Mark Tanner, great grandchildren; Sophia and James Standen and Natalie and Gavin Nagy, brother Bryan (Tanya) Pain as well as good friends Audrey Swedish and Beryl Locket. Audrey was predeceased by her husband William Alfred Tanner in 2000, brother Dennis Pain and sister Valerie Trent. Audrey was born in Erith, Kent, England and survived the blitz. During the 50’s and 60’s she was a supervisor of typists at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment at Harwell, Oxfordshire. In the mid 80’s, Audrey and Ed immigrated to Lethbridge and helped their children run Tanners English Fare Restaurant. They travelled and enjoyed their golden years. Audrey was a great e-mailer and loved new things. As was her wish, cremation has taken place and her ashes were scattered with Ed’s. No memorial service will be held. No flowers by request, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
