MRS. ZOFIA SZPAKOWSKI, beloved wife of the late Eugeniusz Szpakowski of Lethbridge, passed away at home on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Zofia is survived by her 2 children Jerzy (Krystyna) Szpakowski and Miroslawa (Andrew) Sadza of Lethbridge, 3 grandchildren; Natalia, Karolina and Jacek as well as extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Eugeniusz 'Eugene', parents and 2 sisters. Zofia was born on April 1, 1925 in Guzow, Poland. She married Eugene in 1953 and together they raised a family of 2 children. Zofia immigrated to Canada in 1983 from Poland. Zofia stayed at home to raise her family as well as other children. Zofia and Eugene loved to be snow birds, spending many winters in Southern U.S.A. and Mexico. She also enjoyed visiting many new places in their motor home as well as travelling around the world. A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In memory of Zofia, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Southern Alberta, 1254-3 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0J9.
