STEVE HOYTOS

MR. STEVE HOYTOS, beloved husband to Mrs. Margaret Hoytos of Milk River, father of Jim (Christine) Hoytos and grandfather to Steven and Kenneth Hoytos of Valleyview, Alberta, passed away at the Milk River Hospital on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the age of 75 years. He is survived by his brother Leslie Hoytos of Milk River and also by Margaret’s sisters, brothers and their spouses as well as numerous nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Steve was predeceased by his parents Bert and Helen Hoytos, brother Bert and sister Priscilla Hoytos. Steve was born on the farm, January 31, 1933. He was the second son of Bert and Helen Hoytos. He attended school at Bankview at 117. Steve’s greatest moments were spending time on the farm with his wife of 44 years. In his younger days, he was on the bowling team and also played slow pitch with the 117 Aces. He was a farmer and cattleman all his life and later his passion turned to wood making, making anything with a scroll saw that came to mind with Margaret there by his side to do all the painting. Steve was always there for his neighbours to lend a hand when needed. To his grandsons he was ‘Papa’ and they meant the world to him. They spent many days on the farm, hunting gophers and just spending quality time together. A very special thank you to the nurses on the 4th floor of the Chinook Regional Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit at the Milk River Hospital. You are very special people. Cremation. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Milk River Hospital.
