Mandi Elizabeth Stasiuk of Lethbridge passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the age of 44.
Mandi was born on January 27, 1977, in Lethbridge, Alberta, to Sheila and Henry Fehr. Mandi spent her early years in Coalhurst, Alberta, Caronport, Saskatchewan, Bracken, Saskatchewan and Black Diamond, Alberta, before returning to Lethbridge, where she met her best friend, Chris. The two fell in love and moved to Edmonton to pursue post-secondary education. Mandi studied business and worked until after her marriage in 1999 in Lethbridge, and she achieved her ultimate dream - becoming a mother. Mandi always wanted to be a mom, and this was truly her calling. While raising her children, Mandi loved the outdoors and mountains, participating in multiple team and individual ultra races. In 2005, Mandi, Chris and their three children moved from Edmonton back home to Lethbridge to both be close to family and continue to grow theirs. Mandi loved to help others and often volunteered at the kids' school. Family was always very important to our Mama Bear, and this was demonstrated by time spent doing activities. Tragedy struck in 2011 when Isaiah Israel passed the day after he was born, which deeply impacted the family. Two years later, the family was blessed with one more and the family was complete.
Early in 2021, Mandi fell ill and was hospitalized. She battled furiously to recover and was on track until some complications struck, resulting in her being admitted to the ICU at the Chinook Regional Hospital. The staff in the ICU were amazing and took such good care of her. As the complications increased, her family sought to achieve one of her passionate wishes - organ donation. Even in her passing, Mandi continued to help others through her donations.
Mandi is survived by her best friend of almost 28 years and husband of 22 years, Chris, her six children, Chayse (Jared), Eden (Brock), Malachi (Kassi), Eva, Eli and Grace, her mom, Sheila Fehr, brother Joe (Shauna), sisters Rachel and Rebekah (Daniel), mother-in-law, Marlene, father-in-law Mel (Kathy), sister-in-law Leah (Karl), nephews Micah, Mak, and Bohdi, niece Annah, and father, Henry. Mandi was predeceased by her son, Isaiah.
No funeral will be held, and instead, there will be a celebration of life for family and friends.
