He is survived by his children: Kali Neigel (John) and Ryan Neigel (Jaime); grandchildren: Quinn Britton and Heath Silverberg; and his brother, Garry Neigel.

His beloved wife, Brenda Neigel has since passed on May 25, 2024. Stanley was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Lilian Neigel

Stan was born in Tisdale, Sask. Nov. 4, 1948. He attended Echo Park School, which was a rural one room school, about two and a half miles west of the family farm where he grew up.

In 1959, the Echo Park School closed and the students were bused to the Archerwill School. They had to ride their bikes two miles to the Hwy #35 to meet the bus for the first few years. After that the bus was re-routed to the student’s yards for pick up.

Stan met his wife Brenda while working in Coaldale, Alberta. They married in 1985, and raised their two children in Youngstown AB, until moving to Lethbridge in 2017.

Stan enjoyed curling, hunting and fishing with his close friends. He did some work with Mid-West Drilling and one season with Geodetic Survey on the Mackenzie River, NWT with his brother Garry.

Stan was loved by so many, and will be remembered for his infectious smile and kind soul.

A Celebration of Life will be held at YOUNGSTOWN HALL, 209 Main Street, Youngstown, AB, on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.

Ryan, Kali, and all of your extended family… My heart is breaking for you. I’ll always have fond memories of your parents. The pride they had in you shone through in every memory I have of them. I’m thinking of you both as you navigate this unfathomable time.
