ALLAN MARNA STANDING ALONE, of the Blood Reserve, beloved husband of Edna Standing Alone, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the age of 66 years.

ALLAN MARNA STANDING ALONE JR. - Siikiimiitass (Black Horse), of the Blood Reserve, beloved husband of Edna Standing Alone, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the age of 66 years.

Allan Jr. was born on March 23, 1957, to Allen Sr. and Beulah (Eagle Speaker) Standing Alone. Allan is survived by his best friend, companion, and wife Edna Standing Alone. His children Alana Standing Alone, Wanda Standing Alone, Melissa (Shane) Day Chief, and Marvin Garrett Allan Standing Alone. His God Son Ovid Merrick. His Grandchildren: Jenna Meechance, Kyson (Selena) Day Chief, Carly Day Chief, Hailey Day Chief, Kyle Day Chief, Kylee Day Chief, Tyra (Emmitt Medicine Crane) Standing Alone, Lauren Blood and Austin Kolody, Great Grandchildren Alexa, and Neveah Medicine Crane, Caiden White Man Left, Cierra Sweetgrass, Kody Day Chief and Kayce Day Chief. Siblings Wanda (Peter) Weasel Head, Byrde (Del) Healy, Baron (Glenda) Standing Alone, Bunnie Merrick, Dawn Knight and Brother-in-Law, Mike Right Hand. Paternal Family Uncle Alfred Standing Alone Sr., Aunts May Weasel Fat, Sophie Tailfeathers and Nita Wells. Maternal Family Uncle Ike (Gerri) Eagle Speaker. Nieces Deirdre Standing Alone, Patricia Ann (Greg) Soop, Alexis Weasel Head, Gabrielle Weasel Head, Terry Jane Chaboyer, Lacey Standing Alone, Sky Big Throat, Faith Standing Alone, Hope Standing Alone and Paige Standing Alone, Maria Eagle Speaker and Beulah Eagle Speaker. Nephews Moses Weasel Head, Robert Weasel Head, Sherwyn Big Throat and Malcolm Eagle Speaker.

Allan was raised on the Blood Reserve and attended St. Paul's Residential School as a young child, he attended schools in Cardston, Fort Macleod, and Regina Saskatchewan. Allan was employed most recently before his retirement with Blood Tribe Department of Health and before that he was a long-term employee with Blood Tribe Agricultural Project on the Blood Reserve. Allan had numerous employments throughout his lifetime in Lethbridge, Calgary and on the Blood Reserve. Allan had a strong knowledge of the Blackfoot History, and he was an avid reader on War History, and he would often share his knowledge and stories with his children, grandchildren, and son in laws. Allan loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren immensely and he looked forward to every birthday, celebration, and holiday so he could spend time with them. Allan had a special bond with his first-born grandson Kyson Day Chief, who he cherished and loved dearly.

Allan Jr. was predeceased by his parents Allen Sr. and Beulah (Eagle Speaker) Standing Alone. His son Allan Christopher Kolody. Siblings March Gail (Standing Alone) Right Hand and Tyrone (Eagle Bear) Eagle Speaker. Maternal Grandparents Michael and Kathleen (Weasel Fat-Davis) Eagle Speaker. Paternal Grandparents Henry and Louise (Many Fingers-Crosschild) Standing Alone. Maternal Family Aunts Shirley (Pvt. Louie) Merrick, Byrde Eagle Speaker, Evelyn (Robert) Locker and Marjorie Eagle Speaker. Paternal Family Aunts Ada (Jonas) Fox, Ruth (Carman) McLenaghan, Margaret Good Rider, Lily Standing Alone and Alberta Standing Alone. Uncles Andy Standing Alone, Pete Standing Alone, Fred Tailfeathers, Frank Good Rider, Wayne Wells, Dan Weasel Fat, and Horace Quesnelle. His cousins Robert Tailfeathers, Gary Tailfeathers, Alfred Jr. Standing Alone, Rex Good Rider, Floris Good Rider, Louis Merrick, and Emery Healy-Eagle Speaker. Nieces Amber Standing Alone, Tara Standing Alone, Bambi and Tiana Eagle Tailfeathers, Denise Eagle Speaker and Tara Good Rider. Extended families include Standing Alone, Eagle Speaker, Weasel Fat, Wadsworth, Many Fingers, Cross Child, Tall Man, Crop Eared Wolf, Good Rider, English, Pace, and Good Striker. 

A Wake Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. 

A Funeral Service will be held at ST. PAUL'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 90 - 1 Avenue West, Cardston, AB on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with The Venerable Jacqui Durand and Reverend Michael Tipper officiating.

The family would like to thank Dr. Aaron Coma (Family Doctor), Dr. Kirsten Jones (Surgeon), Dr. Wade Walter (Palliative Care) and Dr. Chad Ball (Foothills Hospital Calgary) for all their work with Allan. Lethbridge Chinook Regional Hospital Nurses: Rachel, Brittany, Mariah, Jon, and Robyn for their kind and compassionate care to Allan and Family. As well as Kyla Crow and Suzan Heavy Shields for all their work and assistance to Allan and Family.
