FRED SPOTTED BULL, a wonderful loving husband, caring father and grandfather passed away at the age of 61 on January 11, 2011.
Fred was born on the Blood Reserve September 29, 1949. Fred received his Education from St. Paul’s Residential School and Fort Macleod Public School. At an early age his father taught him the value of work, which he passed on to his children. He held numerous jobs throughout his life. He did farm work for Floyd & Betty Stewart , Ken & Dona Pitcher, Ken Vadnais, Brian Skipworth. Mataki Farm on the Blood Reserve. He did fruit picking in B.C., he worked at the Cardston Alberta Temple, and at the Blood Tribe Police.
Fred loved to exercise, he loved walking and riding his bike, he enjoyed the outdoors. He was a person that kept himself busy. He was a hard worker. A good teacher to his children and friends. He was a person you could talk to for hours and learn something from him. He enjoyed doing new projects and wouldn’t finish until he was done. He would make breakfast for his wife, help clean the house, clean the yard, haul water, take the garbage to the dump, do repairs to the house, and his vehicles. He loved camping with his RV. He was a very good story teller, many people enjoyed his stories. He loved to dance, whether it be dancing to the Chevelles or being on the Powwow Trail. He was quite the tease with his family and friends. He loved serving in the LDS Church, where he held many positions. He enjoyed talking about the gospel with his close friend Dr. John Bridge, when he went for an adjustment. He was a very spiritual man, those who came in contact with him felt his love for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Fred was predeceased by his father Edward Teddy Spotted Bull, mother Mary Eva Medicine Crane, grandmother Suzette Eagle Ribs, grandfather, Fred Spotted Bull, brother Winston Spotted Bull, sister Bernice First Charger, Aunt Bella Wolf Child. He will be missed by his wife Julia Spotted Bull, children Russell (Rayanne) Spotted Bull, Laurie Spotted Bull, Billy (Ashley) Wolf Child, adopted children, Veronic and Bernadett No Chief, Lindsay Eichorn, Tim, David, Scotty and Don of the Chevelles, grandchildren Max, Russell Jr, Matthew, Gabriel, Andrew, Adam, Joshua, and Billy Jay. His siblings Margaret (John) Weasel Bear, Joe(Helen) Spotted Bull, nephew Alvin(Marian) Spotted Bull, Catherine(Harold) Cat Face, Olive (Jerry) First Charger, Mary (Alatise) Atoa, Sylvia(Marlon) Nicholas, Eddy(Joyce) Spotted Bull, Edward Spotted Bull, Clark(Barbara) Spotted Bull, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited to Wake Services at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Friends may meet the family at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, Glenwood Chapel on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M.
Funeral Services will follow at the Church at 12:00 Noon with Bishop Doug Smith, officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.
