MARY (DOROTHY) SPADY, went to be with her Lord April 21, 2011 at the age of 98. Dorothy was born in Harriston, Ontario on October 4, 1912 where she resided until 1947. She then came by train to a little place called Wetaskwin where she met the love of her life Louis who she married on May 1, 1948.
Her first love was to serve Jesus at this little orphanage in Wetaskwin and after marrying Louis they went into full time ministry with Canadian Sunday School Missions for 7 years. She moved on to Skiff, AB, and later Foremost where she served as a pastors wife and shared her love for music playing the accordion, piano and organ. In 1963 they moved to Medicine Hat, AB and helped with the work at Seven Persons Sunday school for about 16 years.
Family was of great importance to Dorothy and she made a point of always remembering the special people in her life and telling them all how much she loved them. She never lacked for friends, had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good visit. In 1994 they moved to Lethbridge where she resided until passing. She was a sincere, warm, caring, loving person who will be greatly missed by her loved ones and many friends. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Friesen(Stan), her only son Doug Spady (Diane) grandchildren Rochelle Plett(Andrew), Candace Friesen, Karey Spady, Starla Spady, Chelise Brewer (Todd), Two special great grandchildren Eli Plett and Keyanna Spady. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Louis, her father Nelson Pridham, mother Harriet Pridham, brother Byrnel Pridham, daughter Miriam Spady, and precious grandson Ladell Friesen. Relatives and Friends are invited to pay their respects at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held at the EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 4717-24 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 1:00 P.M.. Interment at Coaldale Community Cemetery, preceded the memorial service.
