MRS. MABEL GEORGINA SNOPEK, beloved wife of the late Martin Snopek, passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre in Lethbridge on Saturday, July 24th, 2010 at the age of 90 years.

Mabel was born to Aubrey and Mabel Bryant on October 19, 1919 in Fernie, B.C.

She lived and worked on her father’s farm in B.C. until 1941 when she moved to Lethbridge, AB. In 1942 she met Martin Snopek of Lethbridge. At that time, Martin had four sons that she took it upon herself to care for. In 1946, Martin and Mabel had a son of their own and named him Paul.

Paul worked for the City of Lethbridge for 36 years before retiring in March of 2006 so that he could take care of his mother who was 85 years old.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB., on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. A private graveside interment will be held at a later date.
