SMITH, ROSE LILY ALLIETTER

MRS. ROSE LILY ALLIETTER SMITH of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the age of 94 years.

Rose is survived by her three sons Richard, Robert and Raymond and grandson Nathan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Rose was born in Bognor, Great Britain on September 26, 1915 to Alfred and Mary Neve. Rose and husband Sylvester were married in England. She took great pride in being a war bride. They later moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan where they had two sons. In 1950 they relocated to Lethbridge where a third son joined the family. Rose was a Registered Nurse in England and worked as a Nurse’s Aide in various nursing homes in Canada. Rose enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and sharing the fruits of her labour. One of her favorite pastimes was competitively playing rummy.

Rose will be remembered by her loved ones as being unselfish, strong willed and having a great love of nature, especially the mountains.

A Memorial Service will be held at MISERICORDIA FELLOWSHIP CENTRE, 1303 13th Street North, Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Reverend Dr. Bill Calderwood officiating.
