HELEN ANN SINCLAIR (BOSS) passed away peacefully at St Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta, on September 9, 2010 at the age of 90 years.

She is the loving mother of Ron (Maxine) Boss of Calgary, Dan Boss of Bow Island, Darlene (Jim) Bateman of Lethbridge, Valerie Boss of Lethbridge and Ken (Sou) Boss of Medicine Hat. She has eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Ann Sinclair, a brother Campbell Sinclair and an infant son Ricky. She was born in Gurnsey, Saskatchewan on April 17, 1920. She grew up on the family farm near Aylsham, Saskatchewan and completed her education in Saskatoon.

At the age of 18, she was one of the first women to enlist in the Royal Canadian Airforce at the start of WWll. She was stationed in Claresholm, Alberta where she met and later married Harry Boss. They resided in Byemoor and Vauxhall raising 5 children. She did the bookkeeping for their welding and farm machinery business, Harry’s Welding. In 1967 they moved to a farm in the Burdett, Alberta area where she was the Postmaster for many years. When she retired in 1985, she moved to Lethbridge.

She was a long time resident of the Legion Arms where she met many new friends. She was a gentle soul devoted to her family, always knitting and cooking special meals. She enjoyed many cruises and excursions with friends and family over the years.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the special people at St Mike’s and the Alberta Rose Lodge that truly cared for Mum over the past few years.

Interment will precede the service in the Field of Honour at Mountain View Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Canon Allan McCuaig officiating.

A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion.
