SHIPP, ROBERT

ROBERT (BOB) ARTHUR SHIPP, at the age of 92, passed away on March 30th, 2012 with family at his side. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Barbara and husband John Warren, his son Paul and wife Angela, treasured granddaughters: Christine (Michelle) Stewart, Pauline (Troy) Terry, Tania (Ted) Stilson, Mary Milroy and Nicky (Jamie) Brehaut, great-grandchildren: Russell (Amanda), Tegan (Dylan), Samantha, Colton, Denver, Sierra, Kye and Faith. Matt, Dylan and Kaleigh. He will also be sadly missed by his second wife, Lucille. He was predeceased by his first wife, his sweetheart Manty in 1985. Bob was born in Essex, England on Jan. 25th, 1920. He served his country for 6 years in the Second World War after which he became a grocer in his own store. He immigrated to Canada in 1989, the same time as Paul and Angela and their daughters. His whole family were once again all together which was a great joy to him. He enjoyed life and would tell anyone who would listen that he had a good life. The last year was hard, he was “worn out” to use his own words, but his sense of humour was with him to the very end. We will never forget your love and laughter, Dad, Grandad and Great-Grandad. Thanks for the special memories you gave to each of us. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Fairmont Extendicare in Lethbridge who cared for him with such compassion. A private cremation will take place at Cornerstone Funeral Home. There will be no funeral at Bob’s request, but the family will get together to celebrate his life.
