SHERRING, BERTHA NATALIE

BERTHA was born in Bateman, Saskatchewan on February 18, 1923 to Charles and Natalie Hopp. She took her schooling in Saskatchewan and married Edward Sherring in 1947. She lived in Lethbridge, Alberta where she resided until her passing at Edith Cavell Center on Easter Sunday, April 24th, 2011. Bertha was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who were lucky enough to enter her path in life. She always had a hug for everyone and all were welcomed into her home with open arms. She was also an outstanding cook and took first place in many bread competitions. Bertha worked at Mayfair Vogue clothing store for many years and was a faithful employee. She is survived by her children - Sandi (Larry) Peterson, David (Susanne) Sherring and her grandchildren, Rae Lynne (Bruce) Friesen, Bud (Tammy) Peterson, Jerry (Erin) Peterson, Kim Sherring, Jeremy Sherring and Tamara Sherring, as well as eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friend Harold Sacher. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Edward and her five brothers Johnny Hopp, Charles Hopp, Ted Hopp, Ed Hopp, and Herman Hopp. A Memorial Service will be held at the Salvation Army Community Church (1302 - 4th Ave. So., Lethbridge, AB) on Wednesday, April 27th, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, Streets Alive, or the charity of one’s choice.
