Apooyakii ( Light Haired Woman) SHAYLA MARIE WINGS (BULL SHIELDS), of The Blood Reserve, AB, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the age of 21 years. Shayla was born on September 11, 1987 at the Cardston Hospital. She passed away on May 31, 2009. Shayla will be sadly missed by her beloved angels Rougan and Isaiah. She also leaves to mourn her mother Lana (Bruce), her sisters Keisha (R.J), and Ainsley, and her brother Blade. She is also survived by her Grandma Glenda (Rusty), her Great Grandparents; Gilbert & Barbara Bull Shields-Crow Chief, and Grandma Edna Devine, great Grandma Pauline Eagle Speaker. Her Aunts Billie Jo Pepion from Browning Montana, Arlene (Mike), Verda (Marcel), Debbie (Albert), Noreen, Jackie (Mike), Patsy (Roy), Judy (Bill), Belva (Bill), Carol and Cammie (Joe), Melody (Pat ), Maxine (Floyd) Big Head, Carrie and Patty (Tony) Devine. Her Uncles; Patrick, Derrick (Faith). Ace (Crystal), Cade (Marisha) and Basil (Heather). Great Aunts; Rose Marie Tail Feathers, Rosie Red Crow Sr., Louise Oka and Flora Creighton. Great Uncle; Charlie (Betty) Crow Chief. God Son; Treysen. Numerous Aunts and Uncles of the Eagle Speaker family. Shayla was predeceased by her father Aloysuis Wings, her grandparents; David Eagle Speaker, Pat Crop Eared Wolf, Ruth Wings, her Great Grandpa Orton Eagle Speaker, uncles Mark and Irvine Yellow Feet, cousin Leeboy, Derrick Lee Four Horns (Wings) whom she was raised with and called him brother and her little sister Shayann, Great Uncle Emil Wings, Joe Crop Eared Wolf, Reggie Crop Eared Wolf, Great Aunties Agnes Shade, Ada Weasel Mocassin . And numerous relatives to many to mention. Shayla also leaves to mourn her relatives; Bull Shields, Wings, Crop Eared Wolfs, Crow Chiefs, Eagle Speakers, Vielle’s, Wolf Plumes, ,Black’s, Wells, King’s, Good Rider’s, Mill’s, Heavy Head, Blood’s, Good Daggers, Crow’s, Chief Body’s, First Rider’s, Mountain Horse, Weasel Mocassin’s, Tail Feathers, Black Water’s, Shade’s, Oka’s, and Red Crow’s, Creighton’s. Shayla lost her father at a very young age, Aloysius Wings. Shortly after, Shayla went to stay with her Grandmother Ruth who raised her, Shayla loved and adored her so much. After the passing of her grandmother, Shayla went to stay with her Aunt Patsy. From then on her aunty Jackie helped raise Shayla and was close to her God sisters; Tisha, Channie, Muffin and Buffy. Shayla was a very outgoing girl who lived her life for her boys. She showed so much support and love for them, they were her world, she had the biggest dreams for them. Shayla received her Education in Fort Macleod, Cardston and L.C.I, Red Crow off campus, and most recent L.A. School of Hair Design, because she wanted to be a hair designer and Beautician. She was our “Model”. Shayla was known to be a very classy girl that showed in what she wore and how she dressed her boys, in brand name clothing. She made her house a very comfortable home for her boys. Shayla also showed a lot of love for her siblings. She always had positive complements to share with others, she can be heard in a crowd laughing and joking with everyone. Her many friends were all very special to her. Shayla had many friends of all ages. Shayla was very excited because she was going to be an aunti, and was already preparing for the arrival by buying clothes and other fun stuff. Shayla had a very strong bond with her step father Bruce, she was able to open up and share her thoughts and feelings with him, she loved him so much, like a real father. When Shayla wanted to go out it wasn’t her mom she would ask to babysit, it was Bruce, he is PAPA to Rougan and Isaiah. Her boys also have such a strong bond with him, they love him lots. Lana was very proud of how responsible Shayla was and that she didn’t have to worry about her. When Shayla was expecting her first child, Lana proudly accepted being a Grandma and shared her good news with everyone. Bruce and Lana are going to miss her at all their family functions, because she was the life of the party. Shayla’s last visit with her grandparents Gilbert and Barbara is going to be always remembered by them, they had supper with her the evening before she died and she told them that she loved them very much, they will never forget that. A family service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. A Wake Service will be held at CHIEF MOUNTAIN CHAPEL, Blood Reserve, AB, on Sunday, June 7, 2009 starting at 6:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MARY’S IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Blood Reserve, AB, on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Pawel Andrasz O.M.I., Celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
