Shalene was born on May 21, 1993 at Lethbridge Regional Hospital. Shalene was Navajo (relation to Kinlichii’nii Clan) and Blackfoot (Piikani). She graduated from Cascade High School in Montana, USA. She aspired to become a veterinarian and was working hard towards accomplishing her goals. She had various hobbies such as drawing and crocheting, and was also a movie fanatic who particularly enjoyed watching horror and dark humour films. Shalene was known for her compassionate character, cheerful smile, energetic laughter, and boundless affection towards everyone she met. She was always a child at heart, who dearly loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Shalene is predeceased by her grandparents Roy Black Sr., Clara Black, Arthur Crowshoe, and Joan of Arc Crowshoe.
She is survived by her parents Roy Black Jr. and Geraldine Black; siblings Cody Black, Michele Black, Natesha Black, and Skyler Black; nieces Payton Black, Rose Black, Penelope Torres-Clark Black; and nephews Easton Black, Jaxson Black, and Sloan Torres-Clark Black.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at a Wake at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 2213 6A Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.
Shalene will forever be remembered as a warm-hearted soul whose kindness, sense of humour, and beautiful smile profoundly impacted all those who knew her.
