Schweitzer, Curtis

CURTIS SCHWEITZER, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Darka Schweitzer, passed away at home on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the age of 59 years.

Besides his loving wife, Darka, Curtis is survived by his loving children Ryan, Adam and Jade (Nick Reach). Curtis is also survived by his granddaughter Ainsley and grandsons Jaxx and Jagger.

Curtis was born in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1958 to Beth and Cleason Schweitzer. Curtis was a mason by trade, and in 1983 he was presented with the Golden Trowel Award. Curtis was always an entrepreneur from his infield baseball shale (Yard Pro), healthy vending machines and his lawn fertilizer (Lawn Magic).

Curtis and Darka enjoyed their time spent with their grandchildren. Curtis was also a little kid at heart; he loved making people smile with his magic and with his jokes, and he loved to sing.

Curtis will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Curtis' Life will be held at the ROCKY MOUNTAIN TURF CLUB (3RD FLOOR) - 3401 Parkside Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

We had the pleasure of meeting you and Curtis one time at a rooftop in Chicago (Hotel Palomar). You and another couple were preparing to attend some baseball games, and Curtis provided a Miller Genuine Draft and endless entertainment. Curtis had a long lasting impact on us! His jokes, stories, human spirit and heart were first rate. My colleague Marc and I often recite a few of his quotes at work. We were discussing it today at work and saw the obituary. Please accept our deepest sympathies, he was a gem of a human being.

I was so sorry to read of Curtis' passing. He was coach in Little League to my son Jamie. And what a coach! He coached the plays and, better yet, to have fun. So many kids would have a better time if there were more coaches like Curtis, always a smile and words of encouragement (with a joke on the side). He will be so missed! My thoughts and prayers to Daria and family.

Darka and Family , I am so sorry to hear of Curtis's passing. Everytime we saw each other, he took the time to talk with me a few minutes, say something funny , always ask me how I was, and always made me laugh. The first time I ever met you two was at a New Years Eve do , at Tom and Julies Pub. Before he got up to do karaoke he asked me what song I would like , and sure enough he knew it. I will remember that as long as I can. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
