ROSIE SCHAMBER of Milk River passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Rosie was born on September 2, 1925 in Compeer, Alberta. In 1948 she married Joe Schamber and in 1950 they moved to Milk River to farm and where they raised their five sons.
Rosie was a 60 year member of the C.W.L. and a member of the Milk River Royal Purple. In Rosie’s earlier years she loved to curl, was an avid fisherman and a member of the Milk River five pin bowling association for many years. She loved to play cards, especially with her family. Rosie enjoyed the many friendships over the years she made in the “Ladies Sewing Club.” She enjoyed baking, was known for her beautiful yard, making homemade German dishes, especially ’noodla’ and having coffee with her many wonderful neighbours.
Rosie was able to live in her own home up until last year when she moved into the Prairie Rose Lodge. She grew to enjoy the time that she was there and looked forward to the evenings of Bingo.
Rosie leaves behind her five sons Ron (Lanai), Bill (Val), David (Marion), Lloyd and Herb (LaDonna); her grandchildren Melanie (Dave), Julianna (Stacey), Kendall (Chad), Lance, Jenessa, and Sheanna. She was proud to be a great-grandmother to Brady, Sean and Gabriella. She is survived by one sister, Amelia Schamber of Castor; in-laws Peter (Helen) Schamber, Alex Schamber, Tillie Beier, Betty Schamber, Amelia Beier, Margaret Beier, Eleanor Schamber and numerous nieces and nephews.
