DEREK MICHAEL SAWCHYN, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 44 years.
DEREK MICHAEL SAWCHYN, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 44 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 3:00 PM. The Service will be live streamed and may be accessed via Derek's obituary on the Cornerstone website.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Derek, donations may be made to the Purrfect Endings Cat Rescue (e-transfers to sixfurballz@telus.net are gratefully accepted).

Thinking of each and everyone of you today and in the coming days. I only met Derek a handful of times but he always seemed like a very kind and gentle person. I know from what I have witnessed is that your love for one another and your close relationship was very obvious. Your entire family is so welcoming and kind and it shows in all of you, I'm praying for healing and strength for everyone.

Derek became a member of Lethbridge Lodge #2 Independent Order of Odd Fellows from a desire to be part of and involved with an organization whose community involvement spans to Lethbridge's foundation more than 130 years ago. Derek will be sorely missed by all those who were privileged enough to have known him. On behalf of the Noble Grand of Lethbridge #2 Brendan Wiggers, its members, and on behalf of myself and my executive of the Grand Lodge of Alberta, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, we wish to express our deepest condolences to Derek's friends and family as he engages our last degree. Davey Wiggers Grand Master Grand Lodge of Alberta A donation will be made to Derek's charity of choice to honour his legacy.
