Sarah M., born in Alexandrovsk, Russia on June 5, 1924 passed away peacefully on May 1, 2009. Sarah moved to Canada in 1926 where she married George Hooge in 1943 and resided in the Burdett, Purple Springs and Vauxhall area. In 1966 the family moved to Lethbridge. Following her stroke in 2005 she moved to the Good Samaritans at West Highlands, Lethbridge and lived there until her recent hospitalization. Sarah was predeceased by her husband George in 1984. Sarah will be lovingly remembered by her children: Kathy (Myron) Cannady, Lena (George) Plett, George (Elinor) Hooge, Jake (Marie) Hooge, Dorothy (Pete) Dzioba, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and her sister Katherine Dietzen. The family wishes to express their most sincere thanks to the Medical Professionals and supporting staff of the West Highlands Good Samaritans, Lethbridge Regional Hospital and St. Michael’s Health Centre for all their kindness, warmth and tender care. Family and friends are encouraged to a visitation at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 - Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 from 7 PM to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at the PARK MEADOW’S BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 - 15 Ave. N., Lethbridge on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Barry Seifert officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.
