Born December 22, 1929 in Coronation, AB, to Elec and Emma Urban, the family of 7 moved to a farm near Shaughnessy, AB. Vicky schooled in the Picture Butte and Diamond City area, going on to graduate from Henderson Business College.

She then worked at a bank, and maintained friendships from that experience for 40 years. She was very social, and loved to be connected to friends and family. In 1952, she married George Sander and moved to his family farm at Enchant, AB; a century farm that was recognized in 2007.

Mom’s determination and hard work definitely helped facilitate that, as she could milk cows by hand, drive the grain truck, bale, whatever needed to be done, in addition to raising children, she loved crafts, sewing, doing ceramics, quilting, oil painting, baking, and trying new recipes. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and a great volunteer to numerous organizations such as the Travers CWL, Enchant Community Association (40 years), the Legion, and Enchant Seniors.

Mom loved square dancing, music, and a good game of cards with good friends.

Vicky is survived by daughters Karen (Ron) Zielke of Lethbridge, and Brenda Sander (late Gerald Fraser) of Enchant, grandchildren Lindsey Ment (Don Skretting Jr.) of Coaldale, Kennedy (Lorin) Dodbiba of London ON, Gaelyn (Dallas) Widdop of Lethbridge, great grandchildren Jayce, Kaden and Nash of Coaldale, sister-in-law Lorna Urban, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 and 3/4 years, George Sander, son in law Gerald Fraser, parents Elec and Emma Urban, brothers Alec Urban and Julius Urban, sisters Irene Clark and Anne Hadford, and niece Terry Hadford.

A Prayer Vigil will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Jim Manzara officiating.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating. Both the Prayer Vigil and Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Vicky’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Following the Funeral Mass, Vicky will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband George in Mountain View Cemetery.
