Rudy is survived by daughters: Leola, Krista-Roween, and Kendra Grams; granddaughter, Mallory Friesen; his sister Ruth Schultz and sister-in-law Lorraine Tytlandsvik of Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
He was predeceased by his wife Anne (Tytlandsvik) in 2010, his father Emil, mother Pauline (Patzer), eight sisters and three brothers.
Rudy and Anne were married in Weyburn, July 1, 1963, where he worked for the city of Weyburn. In 1976, they moved to Vauxhall, Alberta where he worked for Bow River Irrigation District for 20 years before retiring. At that time, they moved to Lethbridge.
Rudy led an active and social life filled with family visits and celebrations, bowling, dancing to good polka music – like Walter Ostanek – a good game of cribbage and seeing the sights of Alberta and British Columbia in his 1974 Travelaire trailer. Being a member of Nordbridge Senior Centre fulfilled his love of socializing and visiting. He was never far from his Saskatchewan roots, and was always willing to help out a farmer.
After Anne’s passing, Rudy moved to his condo on the Northside of Lethbridge. An independent soul, Rudy lived there until December 2023 before moving to Blue Sky Lodge.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rudy’s life during a Come and Go Reception at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825—32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 1:00 till 3:00 P.M.
